Content to Be

People like to advance, grow, learn, change, discover, improve, update. While all those things are wonderful and natural, its also so very important that we learn to be content with the way our lives are. And the only real way to feel fully content with our lives is if God is the center of them and if He is where we find our joy and contentment. Too often I find myself saying that when I have a certain thing, look a certain way, or am doing certain things, that I will be truly content and happy with my life. In reality, none of those things that I wish for will ever bring me even half of the happiness and peace that I can find in God every day. And in all honesty, my life right now is pretty dang wonderful! I'm getting to dance, cook, bike, read, learn, play music, tutor/babysit kids, and spend time with the people I love. I mean, what could be better than that? I'm learning to find contentment with where God has me here and now. He overflows my life with so many wonderful things, loves me endlessly, and is always there for me. Those things alone should always be enough to make me feel the greatest of peace, joy, and contentment.
